YPEP Seminar on Coastal Zone Management

On 11-13 September 2007, DANCORE (the Danish Network for Coastal Research) is hosting a seminar on coastal zone management at the Skalling Laboratory in the very northern part of the Wadden Sea, Denmark.

The underlying ideas are twofold; both to exchange information about the latest research within coastal zone management and also to create a strong network between young (<35 years) staff and researchers working with this topic.

If you are one of the youngsters, then come to the ”YPEP” seminar at Skallingen. If you are not, then think of some of your younger colleagues, who might benefit from participating in ENCORA´s exchange programme, where the following topics will be discussed:

How can we cope with the consequences of climate changes and the resulting sea level rise? Are harbour constructions and dikes going to be dimensioned differently in the future? How can we solve the ecological and environmental problems in the coastal zone, which arises from increased run-off and nutrient supply from land?

The seminar is subsidized by DANCORE and the cost for participation is therefore 500 DKK which includes lectures, local transportation, food and accommodation. Please note that membership of your national coastal network is a prerequisite for participation.

Preliminary express of interest is given to Morten Lundkvist at This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it . The final date for registration is 10 August 2007 (max. 20 participants). Further information about final registration follows shortly.

Regards,
DANCORE YPEP Coordination Committee
