The Second CoastLab Course |
The Second CoastLab Course is an event promoted by CoastLab Network, the network for small and medium coastal engineering laboratories, with the support of ENCORA Young Professional Exchange Program (YPEP). This course is designed as a hands-on application-oriented training. It will provide the students with the knowledge necessary to set up a sediment transport simulation in physical model. As far as possible, students will also learn to use laboratory instrumentation. |

Current Problems of Rational Exploitation of Natural Resources |
International Conference of Young Scientists Current Problems of Rational Exploitation of Natural Resources in Marine Coastal Areas of Ukraine June 12–14, 2007. Sevastopol – Katsiveli (Ukraine, Crimea) Rational Exploitation of Natural Resources supposes both an optimization of the coastal resource exploitation and simultaneous solution of problems of saving environment quality which, in its turn, allows providing for renewal and reproduction of numerous resources in the areas under investigation. The International Conference of Young Scientists held by the Marine Hydrophysical Institute of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine and its Experimental Branch was devoted to these topical problems. Its main task, besides the information exchange on the results obtained during the latest years among young scientists, post-graduates and students, is to broaden their range of scientific interests by a course of lectures on topical problems in modern oceanography, ecology, climatology, rational exploitation of natural resources. Young scientists from Ukraine, Russia and Byelorussia took part in the conference. The lectures were given not only by leading scientists of the MHI NASU but also by foreign oceanographers, for instance by a famous specialist in evolution of the Black Sea ecosystems Temel Oguz (Turkey). |
